What fragrance/cologne do you put on when it's your night out?
Submitted by noiq.
How about I write about the one that I want, but am too cheap to buy? hehe. I love Annick Goutal's Petite Cherie. I don't think that the description does it justice, either.
If your Vox Neighborhood had a potluck dinner tonight, what dish, drink or dessert would you bring?
If I was making something, I'd bring homemade shortbread cookies. If I was bringing something, I might bring Martini Rossi's Asti Sparkling Wine that my cousin had at her wedding. It has a sweet and lovely taste. Sometimes I wish I could drink more than maybe half a glass before wanting to take a nap because it's really quite tasty. I don't like alcoholic drinks that taste too much like, well, alcohol, and this definitely is on the sweet and bubbly side. Also, it's cheap! :)

For a full sit-down dinner with several guests, would you rather be the one cooking or do you prefer to just show up and eat?
I think that, in the time and place that I am in my life, I would rather show up to eat than to host a huge dinner. I'll help as much as I can, but I otherwise cannot fathom having a huge dinner like my parents put together tonight. If I wasn't eating, then someone else was, and so on and so forth.
Ringtones: What's yours and how often do you change it?
Submitted by enrico.
I have the "old phone" ringtone on my iPhone because it's easy for me to differentiate the ringing from that of others, unless I am in a room with other iPhone users, haha. I don't think that I've changed it since I got my iPhone, either. I set the beginning of Iron & Wine's "Such Great Heights" for my boy's ringtone, though. I still haven't figured out a good ringtone for my parents and sister, so they have generic ringtones from my phone. My oldest sister really likes Akon's "Smack that", but, umm, I'm not really sure if I want to have that start playing in my bag at any time, hehe. :)
Music-wise, what was the first 45, single or download you bought?
Submitted by Paddy Melt Wagon.
My first iTunes download was "Lost Cause" by Beck way back in 2003. As you can see, I've spent a lot of money in iTunes, ha! :)
What is your favorite dish on the Thanksgiving table?

Stuffing, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy all mixed together. Yum! Also, pumpkin pie drowning in fresh whipped cream.
Now I'm hungry :P Thanks, vox.
Where is the farthest you have ever been away from home? Did you get homesick?
Submitted by Melissa.
Well, I grew up in sunny Southern California and moved all the way to snowy Minnesota for many years. It's hard to quantify the home sickness -- there was quite a bit of it, but there was also enjoyment of my independence and a lot of fear. Fear of being alone, fear of not being alone -- the list could go on and on. Moving away changed my life in more ways than this space could ever contain. I made a lot of wonderful friends and made memories that I cherish (and those that I don't). A big part of looking at the "big picture" aspect of it all is that I can't remove one part, while still keeping another -- I have to keep it all in its entirety, and I can't say that I'd take any of it back. What happened (and didn't happen) there is very integral to who I am today. Which is who the hell knows who :), but I'm taking it one day at a time.
How many bones have you broken? Yours or someone else's?

as for those that i have broken that are someone else's...wouldn't you like to know? ;)
What's your favorite music for a Sunday morning?
Submitted by Nick.
back in the twin cities, i enjoyed listening to acoutic sunrise on 97.1 (basically, pretty mellow music), but, seeing as to how i am hundreds and hundreds of miles away, my routine has changed a little bit. i got up at 6.20a today to get to 7a-10a work meeting and i enjoyed NPR and a little bit of my ipod along the way, then mostly "the splendid table" on NPR on the way back. the most miraculous thing to me was that i was wide awake sans coffee and had an enjoyable drive both ways (although i preferred the earlier drive without sun in my eyes). california freeways aren't all that bad early in the morning. :)
music on my ipod this morning:
downtown - peaches
into the ocean - blue october
hate me - blue october
fidelity - regina spektor
wake me up when september ends - green day
