It's the end of National Blog Posting Month, but I still find that I enjoy posting just about every day about inane things, so I might just keep this up. Plans for today include chilling out after work, doing some homework, and then high tailing it over to some restaurant that my sister swears is great (Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine in LA). We'll see how great it is later tonight... off to do some homework, and to play with her new GPS. :)
I want school to be over already, but it's starting back up again as of tomorrow. Boo.
Except for working for three of the busiest days, my long weekend was pretty nice. I didn't sleep in on any day, but I did get to bed pretty early to make up for it, which makes me feel practically geriatric. But does someone who is geriatric wear shoes with pink hippos on them to work? Okay, so maybe they do, but I'm not geriatric and my feet looked pretty cute, even if I get to wear smurf blue at work all of the time now! I think that I'm going to start calling myself a smurfette.
Plans for this upcoming week includes school, more school, and... school. Oh, and perhaps some banana picking in there. I need to make a list of all of the fruits that currently grow in my parents' backyard. It's going to be a long list!
My mom is always talking about how fruit trees are a pain (dealing with those awful fruit beetles, ugh, and too much fruit being ripe at the same time), and yet, wherever she goes, she wants to buy some kind of plant that we can eat. What is really amazing to me is how she is able to make them all live (unlike me) and that this banana tree actually bears fruit (sometimes you can plant something, but it may not actually fruit).
Here is my mother, admiring her flourishing tree:
And then a close up picture of all of the bananas:
Crazy!
● Spicy lentil soup may just be one of my favorite healthy foods ever. Next to eating sour cream as yogurt. Oops, that isn't healthy, is it? :}
● This pulled at my heart strings.
● Someone came into my parents' backyard and jacked all of our persimmons from our tree, save for one. Yes, that's right, they stole our lovely, sweet and delectable persimmons. I'd just like to state for the record that I love persimmons, especially the fruit from our tree because they were petite, sweet and crunchy. Yum. Also, I hope that the thieves become super stopped up from eating too much fresh fruit at once. Yes, I said it. I hope they get a bad stomach ache. I am a bad person, but this is what happens when you deprive me of my fruit.
To be perfectly honest, I'm glad that they only stole fruit and nothing else, even if I have a major craving for that particular home grown fruit right now. It's just annoying that we'll have to wait for another season for them to sprout up again.
I went to Life Plaza again this past Monday to meet some friends and perused the snacks whereupon I found an interesting snack called Cheese Kamaboko made of (wait for it...) cod fish & cheese. So, of course I bought it :D Not that I'm a fan of cod fish & cheese together, but it looked like it might be good (key word being "looked"). It even had those little things at the ends of it like sausage links! So cute!
Anyway, I tried it and it was not that tasty, but the best part was tricking the boy into eating it, while not explaining what it was. :D
me: Oh! I forgot what I bought... oh yeah. Here honey, try it.
boy: What is it?
me: It's this thing with cheese in it.
boy: Okay. [insert me helping him unwrap it, then him biting into it]
boy: [strange look on face]
me: :D
boy: What is this?
me: Cod fish and cheese!
boy: D:
me: I told my friend I was going to have you try it without telling you what it was. :D
boy: Oh, there is going to be some revenge.
me: :D!
Hehe! :D Lots of giggling was involved, I might add.
You know what is great about being at the house sometimes, rather than the condo? The hot water always gets super hot at the house, while the water at the condo takes awhile to get hot. Instant hot water = great.
Also? I find that I quite enjoy getting up in the morning. Every morning this week, I have woken up well before my alarm, only to lay in the warm confines of my bed, waiting for it to go off. It's strange, but also delightful in its own way, although I still would have liked to snuggle under the covers reading for another hour or so.
I plan on backing up my computer and then installing Leopard when I get home since I finally picked up my copy. Yay for leopard! I'm excited about stacks, but, mostly, I'm excited about the cute little bubble hearts in iChat! :D ♥
Spent a lovely night with my sweetie after work. We made twice baked potatoes (man, it's amazing how only half of one can make you full!) and watched some more of the first season of Scrubs. Yum. And now I am off to shower and bed! :)
Getting ready to go out with my sister again (yeah, I know, do I really have a right to say that I'm tired? Probably not.)
I might post again later, but maybe not. In lieu of actual words, here is a gilded chocolate mousse I had a few dinners ago. Yes, I said gilded!
Also? It is very warm and comfy under my fluffy pink blanket right now. :D
